Hello again from my home office which I am enjoying so very much. Many of you visit the clinic for energy healing sessions and some will visit when the time is right. So many of my clients are struggling with overall "stress" so today I would like to touch on how it affects our well being.
Long commutes, raising kids, high-pressure workdays, not enough sleep or exercise, and financial worries all are part of the stress factor and often affect our work performance.
While this may accumulate over a period of time, it is not beneficial to our overall health. It can lead to Burnout in the workplace which we all would like to avoid.
Stress Can Weaken Your Immune System
If you find you have more colds or infections, this may be one sign of overload.
Stress May Weaken The Heart
Stress hormones increase the heart rate and constrict blood vessels. Heart attacks and stroke can be related to stress.
Stress Plays a Factor in Controlling Our Emotions
Often you may feel like you are losing control, have a short temper and often it is just a build up of daily stresses. It can put us in the fight/flight mode very quickly.
These are just a drop in the bucket, but more important is the fact that your overall wellness is better when you have your body balanced, along with regular exercise and relaxation.
Energy medicine sessions along with Light Therapy work towards lowering that stress point in each person.
Until the next time, be aware of the stresses in your daily life. Make choices to alleviate as much as possible; perhaps going out for a short walk, doing a quick meditation or any other way you personally find helps.
Time seems to be whizzing past at maximum speed this year. Many changes have been seen also. I live in a beautiful neighbourhood so enjoy a variety of things.
One of the most interesting for me during my walks with Miss Molly is the incredible touch of nature that is all around us.
There is a huge old tree and the owner said he thought it was about 75 years old. This tree is full of knowledge as I often stop and just listen in the early morning quietness. If trees could talk, would they have a name? Would they tell us the history on our street they have witnessed? I feel so grounded when near this old tree and actually there is another one behind it just as old, but it is harder to see from the street. I feel gratitude when I am allowed to stand and ponder with this old friend.
Another thing is the abundance of crows in our neighbourhood. One morning a particular brassy crow landed outside my apartment window. He made three passes, walking up and down the sidewalk. Was there a message he was trying to get across to me...
On yet another morning walk, two crows sitting above in a tree were very verbal and came swooping down right in front of us…
So I decided to look up Crow Totem which I found interesting.

Monday's Thoughts While I Toiled
Welcome to an awesome week in my world. Life can have its moments for some of you but always remember to put that thought aside and look into that bright blue sky. We are so blessed to be able to have that option.
Each day is a gift as we wake up and wonder what's on the day's agenda. Some can remain in bed and rest a bit. Others are off to the gym or an early morning walk.
Life is what we make of it Right?
So if we wake up on the Wrong side of the bed, we see doom and gloom most of the day or at least our moods reflect that to others.
If we choose to wake up with happy or even content thoughts our day can be so much more to us.
My little home project this weekend was revamping some old furniture pieces that I have. I dragged it all out to the living room (small spaces) and set to work at the sanding and prepping that was needed. I applied the base coat, and then couldn't wait to get home to apply the finish coat! Voile! A project that looks fantastic!
If I had seen that as some gruelling task it may not have been fun at all. It's all in the way you look at what you want to do.
Start each day off by feeling grateful that you are alive! Smile at the world and the world smiles with you.
p.s. I have a new project to start whenever the mood hits and I'm thinking 'red'!
